Phase 2- Residential Meter Updates
The Village of Swanton has undergone an update to its water meter system since 2019. Beginning in 2019, commercial properties were updated to a new system. In 2020, the first phase of residential meters were updated. Last phase of the meter update project will include over 1, 330 meters in 2021. Water meters typically have a useful life of 15 to 20 years. The mechanics of a water meter slow down over time due to age and wear which results in the water meter not registering water usage accurately.
