September 15 Informational Meeting Fulton Township Fire Levy

There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday September 15 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Swanton Community Center. This meeting will provide information on the upcoming Fire Levy for Fulton Township residents. As the boundaries of the Village of Swanton are not conformed, there are residents within the Village of Swanton which also reside within Fulton Township (north of Dodge Street).

September 8- Informational Meeting- Sewer Separation

There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday September 8 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Swanton Community Center. This meeting will provide an overview of the Project 8 & 9 Sewer Separation Project which centers around Metta, W. Garfield, West, Allen, and Sanderson.

August Brush Pick Up

Brush pick up is still scheduled for the week of August 9 however please be patient with the crew as the Village’s chipper is down as well as a delay due to weather. The crew will continue to do one round throughout the Village until complete. This may mean pick up on your street may occur late in the week into next week. Further, crews reserve the right not to pick up piles which do not comply with regulations. Thanks for your understanding.

Municipal Building Closure- August 17

The Administration Office, in the Municipal Building, will be closed on Tuesday August 17 from 9:30 am- 11:30 am for all Staff training.

Village website maintenance-July 31

Your Village website is getting a mini redesign. A fresher look is on its way. During this transition the website will not be accessible on Saturday July 31, in the evening. Thank you for your understanding.

Inaugural Civic Engagement Academy

The Village of Swanton is excited to announce the inaugural Civic Engagement Academy. Village Council and Village Officials strongly support this community initiative and program as a way for community members to learn more about Village operations. This will be a tool to provide accurate and transparent information in an interactive format. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and commitment to seven week lecture sessions on Thursday evenings from late August until early October 2021. Memorial Park Playground Survey

The Village of Swanton is excited to announce the opening of a survey to garner input from the community on playground options at Memorial Park. We hope the community reviews all the options and provides input on their Memorial Park! Village Council urges the community to provide their thoughts and welcomes discussion on other aspects of Memorial Park as well. Emergency Brush Pick Up June 28

Due to the storm overnight June 20-21, Village Public Service crews will perform an emergency brush-up on Monday June 28, 2021. This should allow time for residents to pick up fallen branches.   Please remember that this pick up is due to rain and wind which caused the limbs to fall. This is not for clearing lots or removal of entire trees.   Please have brush to curb, or side of road, by 7:00 a.m. on June 28. Village Public Service crews reserve the right to not pick up a pile if it does not comply with regulations.   The next regularly scheduled brush pick up is Monday July 12.
