On Friday May 21, a third party vendor will tape off the upper parking lots near the tennis courts and Field 2 in order to seal coat and stripe. The process will be complete by mid morning however the area will be blocked off until Saturday May 22, in the morning, as it needs 24 hours before it can be driven on. On Tuesday May 18, from 8am-5:00pm, Brookside Drive, from Hallett Avenue to Crestwood Drive will be closed to thru traffic due to some underground infrastructure work. All local residents will have access to their drives. Thank you for your cooperation.
Installs for the Phase 2 Meter update Project will begin on May 12. Three installers will be in the Village attending to appointments. They will all have ID and drive trucks with PMI logo on them. The Village of Swanton has undergone an update to its water meter system since 2019. Beginning in 2019, commercial properties were updated to a new system. In 2020, the first phase of residential meters were updated. Last phase of the meter update project will include over 1, 330 meters in 2021. Water meters typically have a useful life of 15 to 20 years. The mechanics of a water meter slow down over time due to age and wear which results in the water meter not registering water usage accurately. Will begin in May 2021 and should be complete by the end of June 2021. If you are in this last phase please ensure you call 1.866.584.3846 to schedule your appointment. Public Service is still collecting brush this week, however, the snow caused many limbs to fall which caused the crews to spend more time in certain areas. Further, the majority of these crews are also reading water meters this week. We ask for everyone’s patience as the crews will get to properties to collect brush. Thank you.
