Phase 2- Residential Meter Updates

The Village of Swanton has undergone an update to its water meter system since 2019. Beginning in 2019, commercial properties were updated to a new system. In 2020, the first phase of residential meters were updated. Last phase of the meter update project will include over 1, 330 meters in 2021. Water meters typically have a useful life of 15 to 20 years. The mechanics of a water meter slow down over time due to age and wear which results in the water meter not registering water usage accurately. Will begin in May 2021 and should be complete by the end of June 2021. If you are in this last phase please ensure you call 1.866.584.3846 to schedule your appointment. If you are unsure if you are in this phase, please call the Village and someone will be happy to answer your questions 419.826.9515. Brush Pick Up- April 2021

Public Service is still collecting brush this week, however, the snow caused many limbs to fall which caused the crews to spend more time in certain areas. Further, the majority of these crews are also reading water meters this week. We ask for everyone’s patience as the crews will get to properties to collect brush. Thank you. Reminders on a snowy February 16

Both Fulton and Lucas Counties are under a Level 3 Snow Emergency. If you do not need to be on the roads, please stay home. Village of Swanton is under an Emergency Parking Ban. Police Officers will be out enforcing this. Public Service crews are beginning to head back out to resume plowing after a brief reprieve over the last couple hours. If you do have to be out on the road, please do NOT pass a snow plow. We ask for patience as our crews get out and plow roads. Primary roads are always cleared first and then secondary and alleys are tended to. Utility bills were due on February 15.
